About PIRCs
The Parental Information and Resource Centers…
- Are federally funded by the US Department of Education under Title V of No Child Left Behind.
- Are a national network of 60 statewide PIRCs across the United States and its territories.
- Work hand-in-hand with State and Federal Programs to provide information and resources on parent involvement from early childhood through high school

- Help implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement.
- Strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the educational needs of children.
PIRC Priorities and New Directions…
- Collaborate with State and local educational agencies to foster the implementation of the parental involvement requirements of Title I
- Provide assistance to schools and districts to address the parental involvement requirements of Title I
- Provide accurate, timely, and understandable information regarding key NCLB provisions
- Provide Statewide services
